Kapitan Keling Mosque
Kapitan Keling Mosque is a historic and active place of worship in the heart of George Town, dating back to 1801. It is renowned for its striking Indo-Moorish architecture and serene atmosphere.
Located just a 10-15 minute walk from Fifth Avenue Hotel Penang.
Visitors can admire the white domes, arches, and spacious prayer hall. Modest dress is required (shoulders and knees covered); robes and headscarves are provided if needed. Remove shoes before entering. Avoid visiting during prayer times, especially Friday noon.
Open to visitors outside of prayer hours. There is no entrance fee, but donations are appreciated. Photography is permitted outside only. Mornings or early afternoons are the best time to visit for a quiet experience.
