Khoo Kongsi Clan House
Khoo Kongsi is a magnificent Chinese clan house in George Town, renowned for its elaborate architecture and rich cultural heritage. Built in 1906, it showcases intricate carvings, a grand courtyard, and a historic opera stage.
Located a 15-minute drive or 30-minute walk from Fifth Avenue Hotel Penang.
Highlights include the ornate Dragon Mountain Hall, a heritage museum with family artifacts, and guided tours explaining the clan's history. Modest dress is required.
Open daily. Admission is RM10 for adults, RM1 for children. Mornings are best for photography and avoiding crowds. Allow about an hour for your visit. Special events occur during Chinese New Year and the annual Khoo Kongsi Festival in October.
