Penang Botanic Gardens

Penang Botanic Gardens is a 29-hectare historic garden established in 1884, located at the foot of Penang Hill. It features diverse plant collections, walking trails, and wildlife.


The drive from Fifth Avenue Hotel Penang takes 15–20 minutes. Rapid Penang buses 10, 203, or 204 also stop nearby (approx. 45 minutes).


Highlights include themed gardens (Orchid, Fern, Cactus), waterfall views, and the Tree Top Walk. Wildlife includes monkeys and squirrels. Do not feed animals.


Open daily from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Free admission. Guided tours are available on weekends. Mornings (7–10 AM) are ideal for cooler weather and active wildlife. Wear sturdy shoes and bring insect repellent. Parking is RM2.
