Penang National Park Trekking

Penang National Park is a compact but biodiverse protected area at the northwestern tip of Penang Island, featuring rainforest, beaches, and unique ecosystems like a seasonal meromictic lake.

The drive from Fifth Avenue Hotel Penang to the park entrance in Teluk Bahang takes 45–50 minutes.

Key attractions include jungle trekking to Monkey Beach (3 km) and Pantai Kerachut (further 2 km), the Canopy Walkway (RM5 permit), and turtle conservation efforts (seasonal, April–August). Boat transfers are available from Teluk Bahang jetty (approx. RM70–150 for a group).

Register for a free entry permit at the park headquarters. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Bring sturdy shoes, water, snacks, and insect repellent. No food vendors inside. Weekday mornings are best to avoid crowds. Avoid monsoon season (September–November).
