Penang State Mosque

Penang State Mosque is the largest mosque on the island, known for its distinctive modern architecture and spiritual significance.


Located a 10-minute drive from Fifth Avenue Hotel Penang along Jalan Air Itam.


Visitors can admire the unique design and serene gardens. Modest dress is required (shoulders and knees covered). Non-Muslims may explore exterior areas and certain public spaces with permission.


Open daily. Avoid prayer times, especially Friday midday. No entrance fee. Photography is permitted outside; ask permission for interior photos. Mornings or early evenings are the best time to visit for a quiet experience.
