Penang State Museum

Penang State Museum offers a comprehensive look into the island’s history and multicultural heritage, housed in a historic colonial building on Farquhar Street.


Located a 5-minute drive or 15-minute walk from Fifth Avenue Hotel Penang.


Exhibits include artifacts from Penang’s colonial era, traditional cultural items, and historical photographs. The museum is modestly sized but rich in content.


Open daily except Friday. Admission: RM5 for adults. Photography is allowed without flash. Allow about 1.5 hours for your visit. Weekday mornings are less crowded. Free pamphlets and guided tours (RM20) are available.
