Sun Yat-sen Museum
The Sun Yat-sen Museum is a historic Straits Chinese shophouse that served as the temporary residence and revolutionary headquarters of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Penang.
It is located on Lebuh Armenian in George Town, a five-minute drive or fifteen-minute walk from Fifth Avenue Hotel Penang.
Highlights include the preserved study-bedroom where Dr. Sun worked, the meeting room used for the revolutionary "Penang Conference," and original printing equipment. The museum's architecture, typical of 19th-century shophouses, features a central airwell and a mix of European and Chinese design elements.
A full visit typically takes 30 to 45 minutes.
The museum is a good cultural stop during a walking tour of the UNESCO Heritage Zone.
