Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium

Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium is a marine educational center that provides an engaging look at Malaysia’s underwater biodiversity through its collection of over 25 display tanks.


It is a 30-minute drive from Fifth Avenue Hotel Penang and is also accessible by Rapid Penang buses 302 and 307.


Highlights include a variety of local marine species, from colorful reef fish to moray eels, a large cylindrical tank with larger species, and a sea turtle hatchery. The outdoor area also features skeletons of stranded marine mammals as part of its educational displays.


There is an entrance fee of RM 5 for adults and RM 2 for children aged 6-12.


The aquarium is typically closed on Wednesdays for maintenance.


Weekday mornings are the best time to visit for a more relaxed experience.


Flash photography is prohibited to avoid disturbing the animals.
